Rosacea
Rosacea, characterized by redness and broken capillaries around the nose and cheeks, is an inflammatory disorder stemming from inappropriate immune system responses.
Rosacea and conditions like perioral or seborrheic dermatitis are often misdiagnosed as is adult acne due to the appearance of bumps or small pustules that resemble pimples. It is important to distinguish between conditions and causes as treatments will be quite different from those of acne.
For rosacea, products should support healthy immune function by rebalancing the skin microbiome and identifying the triggers that may initiate inappropriate immune responses. For dermatitis, we look at improving barrier function by restoring microbial balance.
